PriApps today announced the official launch of PriApps Touch-Free, the first completely contactless Single Sign-On (SSO), Print, Copy, Scan and Fax mobile app for Multi-Function Printers (MFPs).  PriApps Touch-Free has been designed to help organizations comply with Social Distancing guidelines in the office and mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus when using printers and MFPs.

“When we began to grasp the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic for our customers and office workers in general, we soon realized that our existing contactless Secure Print Release app wasn’t going to be enough”, commented Peter Turnbull, Co-founder & CEO of PriApps.  He continued, “People spend more time at MFPs scanning and copying documents as opposed to just printing them.  PriApps Touch-Free allows users to perform print, copy, scan and fax workflows at MFPs without ever having to touch the control panel of the device.  We can even ‘wake-up’ the device with our Single Sign-On technology”.

PriApps Touch-Free allows users to perform the following functions without having to ever touch the control panel of the printer or MFP:

• Release print jobs at any printer or MFP from their own personal PriApps myQueue as well as change print settings
• Sign-in or authenticate at MFPs using a variety of methods even when the device is in sleep mode
• Perform scan workflows including scan-to-me, scan-to-email, scan-to-network folder, as well as change scan settings
• Photocopy documents and change copy settings
• Fax documents directly from the MFP and change fax settings

PriApps also tracks all print, copy, scan and fax usage for reporting, billing and analytical purposes.

PriApps has long been a pioneer in the field of print management apps for mobile devices.  It was the first print management ISV to release a print app for mobile devices back in 2009 with PriApps Print for Blackberry.  It then went on to be the first ISV to release a contactless Secure Print Release app for iOS and Android devices compatible with any make or model of printer as well as Single Sign-On (SSO) features for supported MFPs.

“Printer manufacturers are quite rightly recommending customers sanitize MFPs and users wash their hands after every use”, added Turnbull.  “This is great advise, however PriApps Touch-Free reduces the need to do this as excessive rubbing can lead to color unevenness, discoloration or blurs, and even scratches and cracks in the control panel of the MFP, and overuse of hand sanitizer can lead to adverse reactions resulting in skin damage and sore hands”.

PriApps Touch-Free works with any make or model of printer or MFP, even legacy devices.  Certain features may not be available for all MFP brands immediately, however PriApps continues to make all its technology available on all MFP brands in cooperation with the manufacturers.
